YESTERDAY’S RACES
The first day of the Wellington Racing Club’s summer meeting held at Trentham racecourse yesterday saw ajj nature mantled in colourful array . . . beautiful green lawns . . . flowers that flaunted in their’ radiant beauty . . . and the clothes of Milady expressed in the most captivating way the very spirit of blithe summertime ... The gay sunshiny day that favoured the opening of the meeting brought in its train a galaxy of frocks that seemed more beautiful than ever—the grace of their lines only equalled by the alluring beauty of their colourings.
