YESTERDAY’S CASES POLICE PROSECUTIONS AND BYLAW BREACHES. Police cases were dealt with by Mr E. Page, S.M., at the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. One first offending inebriate was convicted and discharged. Another .was fined 5s and a third was fined the amount of his bail, 10s. Gordon Francis McDonald, alias J. Noble, alias Fawcett, who was charged with stealing a gold wristlet watch, valued at £ls, the property of Katli- i leen Hannah Hodge, was remanded to ! appear on January 26th. | John Alexander Mitchell McLeod, alias j John McLeod, a parpenter, aged 50, wlio • was charged with vacancy, was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment. Accused has a long list of previous convictions. BY-LAW BREACHES Mr J. H. Salmon, S.M., dealt -with the following by-law cases yesterday:— For speeding round a corner Lawrence Jacobs, Cecil A. Jones, Alexander Macpherson, Thomas Wilson, and Arthur M. Grimetone were each fined £l. Gordon Burt, FovSter Br,own and Alex. W. Newtown wore each fined £2 for speeding.
