DESTROYER'S ATTACKERS DAMAGES AWARDED. \v Fraiian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received January 21, 1.35 p.m.) PARIS, January v 2O. Men and omwen convicted of the assault of Abbe Desnoyersj of Bombon, avho was stripped and flogged by a dumber of peinsons from who accused him of wizardry, were sentenced respectively to 8 months’ and 6 months’ imprisonment, and fined 100 francs. They were ordered to pay Desnoyers 500,000 francs damages. Accused pleaded that they had acted legitimately in defence against the forces of Satan, but the Judge pointed out that the penal code did not provide for such an eventuality.
