DEATH OF FARMER
BODY FOUND ON STREAM BANK WOUNDED IN HEAD. Per Press association. PALMERSTON N.. January 19. A settler, J. R. Temperly, aged 60, who has been farming on Nannestead’s Line, Bunnythorpe, was found dead on the bank of a stream running through his property this morning. The deceased arose early, and, later, when bis wife wakened, she discovered a cheque on the table. She became alarmed, a search was made, and deceased’s body was found with a gun alongside and with a wound in the head.
