CHASE AFTER PRISONERS ~ ONE CAPTURED OTHER ESCAPES. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, January 19. After their escape from the Hamilton police lock-up, Brewer, and Curtis took a racing car from a private garage at Hamilton, and wefe recognised at Glen Eden by Constable Smith who enlisted the services of a motor cj'clist and a side-car, and gave chase. When he drew level with the stolen car the two occupants jumped out, Brewer going in one direction and Curtis in the other. Curtis was soon caught, and Brewer escaped. In the. Police Court Curtis was charged with escaping from'laiwful custody and remanded to January 27tli.
