A rather well-attired young man, of good address, with a nico silk handker* chief peeping from his hi’east pocket, has made his appearance in one of tho suburbs of Auckland. When he calls at a house, he states that he is collecting in. surance premiums for a certain com. pany. One gentleman at whose place a call was made went to the company named, and learned that it had no one out collecting premiums.
