In a speech at a banquet in Toronto to the retiring Lieutenant-Governor, Colonel Henr.v Cookshutt. the Premier of Ontario, Mr Howard Ferguson, advocated lifting the ban on the granting of titles to Canadians. He said he hoped the Ottawa Government would see that the “defect whereby Canadians are ineligible for Royal honours” was remedied.
