NO TITLES FOR CANADIANS
PREMIER WOULD LIFT THE BAN APPEALS TO GOVERNMENT. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received January 19, 10.15 p.m.) OTTAWA, January 19. In a speech at a banquet in Toronto to the retiring Lieutenant-Governor, Colonel Henr.v Cookshutt. the Premier of Ontario, Mr Howard Ferguson, advocated lifting the ban on the granting of titles to Canadians. He said he hoped the Ottawa Government would see that the “defect whereby Canadians are ineligible for Royal honours” was remedied.
