The Bank of New Zealand, produce department, has received the following advice from its London office, nnder date 7th instant:— “Butter. —Very slow. Stored, 166 sto 168 s per cwt; controlled, 172 s to 17-13 per cwt. “Cheese. —Steady. Controlled, white 98s to 94s per cwt, coloured 94s to 95s per cwt. "Frozen meat.—The market is short of supplies of New Zealand lamb. Wethers are in good demand, which is likely to continue. Prospects are less favourable for ewes. Beef is depressed owing to heavy stocks of Amrentine:—Wethers, light 6Jd to 6jd jxrf lb, heavy 5Jd to 6d per lb; ewes, 4d to 4Jd per lb; lambs, Australian 7d to 9d per lb, Argentine 7d to 8d per lh; ox, hinds 4d to 4Jd per lb, fores 3Jd to BJd per lb: cow, hinds 3jd to 3|d per lb, fores 3d to 3Jd per lb.” DALGETY AND COMPANY Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, report .having received the following cablegram from their London house, under date of the 10th instant:— “The list of arrivals for the sales commencing 18th instant closed on 10th idem. The quantity available is: Cape, 1500 bales; New Zealand, 16,500; South American, 2590; Australian, 59,500; carry forward, 40,000.” MURRAY, ROBERTS AND CO. Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co., Ltd., are in receipt of the following cablegram from their London agents, dated 10th instant: — , “The following vessels have arrived in time for the consignments of wool by them offered in the next series: Tonic, Kia Ora, Bimutaka, Port Hobart and Tamaroa." CONTROL BOARD SALES FIGURES FOR FOUE WEEKS. The following statement has been issued by the Dairy Produce Board in respect to sales of buffer and cheese in London, and to Canada and the United States: — Soles in London.—For the four weeks ended January 7th, 1927, the following quantities of dairy produce under control of the board has been sold : Butter.—Creamery 130,086 boxes whey 2916 boxes. Cheese, 39,889 crates. For the purpose of assessing values it may he taken that the sales represent to mid-October gradings for butter and the first week October gradings for cheese. The average prices realised in London for the above were ns follow: Butter. Creamery 171 s6d per cwt, whey 149 s per cwt. Cheese, 93s 3d ]>er cut. Sales to Canada.—Total strniplit out sales by the board of butter to Canada, through Montreal and Vancouver, to date are 85.700 boxes.

Sales to United States of America.— The Hororatn. which sailed in November, took 15.000 boxes butter on optional bills of lading. New York and London. Of tills shipment 4000 boxes were sold at Panama and ’ the balance at New York Tile Arana, sailing January I2th for Now York, takes 16.000 boxes on New York and Itomlnn optional bills of lading, and the Devon, sailing bebruarv Ist, will also take butter for New York.
