PARIS TAXIMEN OBJECT Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn. (Received January 9, 5.5 p.m.) { PARIS, January 7. For the first time for years, the streets to-day were for three hours without the fearsome ‘‘honk” associated with Paris taxis. The drivers were on strike for three hours ■ while they attended a meeting to protest against the decree empowering gendarmes to fine them on the spot for minor breaches of the regulations. The drivers declare they wilt not tolerate the decree, because they have no faith in the gendarmes.
