MR COOLIDGE WINS THROUGH,
Australian and N.Z. Cable Association
(Recoived January 9, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, January 8. President Coolidge’s wishes were fulfilled regarding the amendment to the Naval Bill, asking for an appropriation of 450,000 dollars to construct threo cruisers. The amendment was defeated, despite excited debates, in which Republican leaders denounced tho President’s message and policies.
