SHEFFIELD SHIELD CRICKET

By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received December 6, 11.55 p.m.) ADELAIDE, December 6. In their first innings in the Sheffield Shield' match, South" Australia scored 481 (Rymili 142). Blackie took seven wickets for 159. Victoria have lost one wicket for 116 (Woodfull 53 not out, Ponsford 54). Tue weather was fine, and the wicket good. Rymili opened confidently, and batted brilliantly throughout, scoring freely with attractive strokes. He hit with power, and placed with wonderful precision. The bowling appeared to lack sting. Woodfull and Ponsford opened cautiously, but by careful batting slowly added to the score.
