FRESH DEMANDS ON GERMANY MILITARY ACTIVITY MUST CEASE RESENTFUL By Telegraph —Press Assn. —Copyright. Reuter’s Telegram. (Received August 29. 5.5 p.m.) BERLIN. August 28. “Strange” and “trivial” are the adjectives applied by German circles to a note fiotn the Conference ot Ambassadors to the German Government, demanding (1), an unambiguous legal decree terminating the military activity of Nationalist organisations; (2) the discontinuance of illegal recruiting of t)ie Re'ehswehr: (3) the fulfilment without delay of the demands of the Inter-Allied Military Commission. It is pointed out that out of over 2000 notes regarding disarmament so far received from the Inter-Allied Military Commission and the Ambassadors’ Conference, the latest is regarded as inopportune, in view of Germany’s entry to the League. NATIONALISTS VOTE WITH “REDS” It has been disclosed that at yesterday’s meeting of the foreign affairs committee of the Reichstag, members of the German Nationalist Party voted in favour of a Communist motion demanding the withdrawal of Germany's application to enter the League. The National Party to-day refused to permit its member, Herr Hoetzscli, to join the German delegation to Geneva, although the Government asked him. This refusal is based on th euncertaintv of the present political situation. particularly in view of disarmament problems, and the unclear position which party representatives would hold at Geneva regarding their freedom of action and influence.
