ALAN COBHAM’S FAREWELL “PUT AUSTRALIA ON THE MAP.” Mr Alan Cobham, speaking from 6CL Adelaide last evening, conveyed Lift farewell message te Australia, and in doing so thanked the Government for their valuable assistance and also for the assistance which would be rendered him by the H.M.S. Geranium. Mr Cobham stressed the fact that a great opportunity existed for the opening up of the interior and isolated parts of Australia, where farmers were separated miles from each other. AUSTRALIA READY FOR FLYING The flight from England, he said, jvas carried out in order to survey the possibility of air routes. This trip would undoubtedly put Australia on the map in England. Mr Cobham was satisfied that the people in Australia were more ready to take up flying than in any other country, and advocated the formation ol aerial, medical ami nursing services throughout Australia. In conclusion, he said that there were certain difficulties to be experienced on tno return journey which would not have to ho encountered on a properly constituted air route. Sir Cobham leaves Adelaide this morning for Port Darwin, where he will commence the return journey. [The foregoing message was received by Mr R. Jones, of Lyall Bay.]
