IT WAS QUITE ALL RIGHT
An archaeologist was organising an 1 expedition to one of the warmest parts of Asia Minor. Ho advertised for labourers to do the excavation work. One applicant was a middle-aged farm worker, and the archaeologist was doubtful if he could stand the heat.' He warned him about it, and explained that the temperature often reached 100 in the shade. But the farm worker was not to he discouraged. “That’s all right,” he said. “T*Jl not be woiking in the shade nil the time.”
