Patrick Flannigan and Murphy Hannigan were in a dilemma—in fact, they were in a regular Irish stew. “Shure,” exclaimed Pat, “these scales is no good at all! They only weigh up to 200 pounds, and O’im 2-50 donnas.” They put their heads together and considered the matter. “Av course,” reflected Murphy, “wc must cut some nv the superfluous off ye, till ye balance.” But Pat objected. Then Mui|>hy was struck with a sudden inspiration. “Shure, Pat,” he exclaimed, “phwat’s to prevent ye gittin’ on twice?”
