BRITISH SILVER COINS
NEW DESIGNS CONTEMPLATED. (Received July 25, 11.5 p.m.) LONDON, July 24. There is a prospect of a change being made in the British silver coinage, says the “Observer.” The Royal Mint has already struck two complete trial sets, designed by different artists. Sir Charles Oman states that some of the designs are absolutely original, and others have not been seen since the seventeenth century.
