ARMED ROBBERY IN PERTH

BANK CLERK FATALLY SHOT ROBBER TAKES £174. By Telegraph rsi-vr^M. PERTH, June 4. While two bank clerks were taking money from the suburb of Mnylands to Perth in the train, one of them, J. R. Grenville, aged 22, was sud* denly shot in the head and abdomen by a third man in the same compartment. The man then tried to shoot the other clerk, Douglas Favis, but the revolver jammed. He hit- Favis heavily on the head with the butt end of it. When the train arrived at Perth the man jumped out on the wrong side of the carriage, taking money amounting to £174 with him. The signalman chased him for some distance, but tho thief evidentyl made his escape. The wounded clerk, Greville. was hurried to tho hospital, hut died an hour later. Favis was only slightly injured. SUSPECT ARRESTED completely disguised. (Received June 4, 10.23 p.m.) The police at Northam arrested a young man aboard the trans-Conti-nental train. It is stated that they recovered from him all the missing money except his train fare, and also an empty revolver. Royston Rennie has boon charged with the murder of Grenville. When arrested he was disguised, having taken out his faLe teeth, assumed a limp, and discarded his overcoat.
