ENGLISH TEAM IN CANADA SECOND MATCH WON. Australian and N.Z. Cabl© Association* (Received Alay 27, 7.15 p.m.) . HAMILTON (Ontario), Mav 28. The English Soccer team won the second match of its tour, defeating the Hamilton representatives by 3 goals to 0. DISPUTE THE COMMONWEALTH’S VIEW. In a letter received by the New Zealand Football Council the Commonwealth Football Association expresses reerret at the attiude adopted by the New Zealand Football Association in regard to the proposed tour hy an Australian team. The association says it wa<* anxious 10. encourage international tours, and was prepared to accept a reasonable offer from New Zealand. It felt that the New Zealand bodv's cable, offering .£SOO, wan intended to precipitate a decision. The tour outlined by the New Zealand body would occupy and at a cost of £fl per day would 'amount to £540, exclusive of assembly *nd dippers a 1 charges, approximately £l5O, and also the cost of outfit. In view of tlieso known expenses the offer of £SOO from New Zealand was ridiculous. The secretary’s action in cabling and breaking off negotiations for a tour had been endorsed by all the States. If the New Zealand Association did not think the Commonwealth Association was serious in its desire to encourage international tours, the association would invite a counter offer to tour Australia on similar terms to those outlined by C.F A., and it was almost certain the States would agree to accept a New Zealand team this season. At the meeting of the New Zealand Football Association Council last night the chairman Mid secretary were authorised to reply. F.A. TROPHY RULES ADOPTED.
