RUGBY MATCHES

TO-DAY'S ATTRACTIONS It is anticipated that the match at Athletic Park this afternoon, between Oriental and Athletic, will be one of the best contests of the season. Although beaten by Petone on the opening day of the senior competition, Oriental gave a good account of themselves, and since then their form has shown considerable improvement. Athletic, who were resting last Saturday, are so far unbeaten, and are being hailed as likely champions. They will be right out to maintain their record, while Oriental will make every effort to .improve their prospects. Two lower-grade games will be played as curtain-raiser*. At Newtown Park four senior teams will be seen in action the matches on that ground being Berhampore v. University and Marist v. Wellington. Much interesting football should be obtained from these games. All senior matches are timed to commence at 2.45 p.m.
