IMPORTANT QUESTIONS CONSTRUCTION BY CONTRACT. (“Times” Correspondent.) OTAEI, May 21. At Tuesday’s meeting of the Horowhenua Power Board, the estimates for the present year were considered. As submitted by the treasurer (Mr P. W. Goldsmith) and finance committee, these were as follow: Estimated Loan Expenditure, 192027.—Loan’s share of interest £4OOO, loan’s share of salaries £650, loairs share of transport £SOO, poles £IOOO, meters £IOOO, wire £9OO, insulators £450, transformers £BOO, sundries and contingencies £6OO, wage expenditure £2500; total, £12,400. Estimated Revenue 1926-27. Electricity : Lighting and heating £12,000, power £13,000, street lighting £1150; total, £26,150. Meter rents £llOO, rent of houses £2OO, profit on trading account £150; total, £27,600. Balance from last year £4780; grand total, £32,380. Estimated Revenue Expenditure, 1926-27.—Outside staff (wages’) £3oou, salaries £2400, outside stations £l5O, members’ fees £430, transport £1500; total, £7480. General Expenses, etc.-—lnsurances £350, printing and advertising £IBO. stationery and office supplies £IOO, telephone, postages and exchange £230, rent, collectors, interest on overdraft £SOO, material for maintenance and repairs £200; total. £1560.
