The following is tho progress report for the fortnight ended April 14th* — Mount Lycll Mine. —No work done during period. North Mount Lyell Mine: Tons extracted 2576. 850 ft level, north drive, to 1694 ft, through chloritic schist; 1000 ft level, footwall drive, to 163 ft, through pyritisod quartzito and schist. Widening of blocks shaft, pilot winze, to full width of shaft extended to 114 ft below the surface. Reduction Works—The furnace was not in blast during the period. 3546 tons of blister copper consigned to the refinery for the current year. Concentrator: The mill operated 239 J hours and treated 3182 tons of ore, producing'4o tons of jig concentrates. 263 tons of table concentrates and 782 tons of flotation concentrates. SHIPMENTS OF LAMB FROM AUSTRALIA. The New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board has just received a cable from its representative in Australia advising that 53,598 carcases of lamb were exported from Australia for tho fortnight ended April 23rd, 1926. MINING SHARES ACTIVITY AT THAMES. (By "Telegraph.—Special to "Times.”) AUCKLAND, April 26. f The market opened very strongly this morning for shares in 1 Alburnia Mine, Thames. Sales started at 4s 6d and were followed at 4s 3d, 4s, 3s 9d, 3s lid and 3s 10d. At the noon call the shares sold from 4s to ss, and then went back to 4s Sd, closing this afternoon at 4s 6d. The cause of the demand is the fact that two parcels of 101 b of picked 6tone have been secured. On Saturday morning the manager telegraphed that be had got the colour of • gold and a later telegram was forwarded that 101 b of picked stone had been secured from the Orlando reef. This .morning another telegram was received: "Obtained further 101 b of picked stone,, some, of which was received in presence of the directors during their visit to the mine.” DAIRY PRODUCE MARKET BUTTER QUIET; CHEESE; SLOW.
