BIG INCREASE IN FIGURES DIPHTHERIA AND ENTERIC FEVER The following is the bulletin of infectious diseases for the week ending April 19th, 1926. The previous week’s figures are given in parentheses: Scarlet fover, diphtheria and enteric fever show decided increases this week, especially in the Wairarapa districts. Taranaki-Horowhenua, 15 (10). —Scarlet fever 2 (1), pidlithoria 8 (7;, enteric fever 1 (0), tuberculosis 1 (I), puerperal fever 1 (0), erysipelas 2 (0), pneumonia 0-(l). Wairarapa-East Cape, 40 (19).—Scarlet fever 4 (4), diphtheria 18 (5), enteric fever 14 (4), tuberculosis 2 (0), cerebrospinal meningitis 1 (0), lethargic encephalitis 1 (1), pneumonia 0 (1), erysipelas 0 (1), pneumonic influenza 6 (2>, septic abortion 0 (1). Central Wellington 18 (11).—Scarlet fever 12 (6), tuberculosis 4 (1), erysipelas 2 (0), diphtheria 0 (2), enteric fever 0 (1), pneumonia 0 (1). Nelson-Marlborough, 0 (4).—Diphtheria 0 (3), cerebro-spinal meningitis 0 (1). Grand total: 73 (44).
