HARDWARE ASSISTANTS’ GUILD The first annual picnic sports meeting of the Wellington Hardware Assistants’ Guild was neld at Karori Park on SatuH iy afternoon. A large and represen tai.ve number of entries was received for all the events, and the finishes proved to be close and exciting. The detailed results are as follow: —Half-mile, (1) J. Shepperd, (2) C. Taylor, (3) Anderson. Ladies’ 75 yards. (1) Miss Talker, (2) Miss Flynn. Final 100 yards, (1) C. S. James, (2) R. McKaj’ (3) N. E. Sinclair, tbng jump, (1) J. Ames, (2) R. McKay. 440 Yards, (1) G Lang, (2) L. O. Todd, (3) J. Shepperd. Hop, ,step and jump, (1) R. McKay, (2) Anderson. One mile, (1) J. Shepperd, (2), F. Peterson, (3) F. Knight. 220 yards, (1), C. S. James (2), N. E. Sinclair, (3) R, McKay. The Willis Challenge Cup for the mile in-ter-house relay race was won by John Duthie and Co., Ltd. (D. Todd, L. C. Todd, R. McKay, N. E. Sinclair). The Baker Cup for the highest aggregate number of points in the flat races was won by Mr J. Shepperd, of John Duthie and Co., Ltd.
