MOTORIST FOR TRIAL NEGLIGENT DRIVING ALLEGED TWO CYCLISTS KNOCKED DOWN. Per Press Association. TIM AH IT, April 15. Gcorgo W. Brehaut, a cycle dealer, was charged before the Magistrate’s Court that being tho driver of a motorcar ho became involved in an accident causing an injury, and failed to render all practical assistance and report the accident to the nearest police elation. Ho was also charged that at Waitawa, on Maich 20tli, he negligently drove a car along the Pleasant Point road, thereby causing bodily injury to Douglas Christie. Christie, a young man, was returning home from a bicycle* race in which he had participated, when he and his two companions were knocked off their bicycles through a car colliding with them. Christie was so badly hurt that he has been in hospital ever; 6ince, and it was found necessary to amputate liis right le". Police evidence was heard at much length, after which the accused, who pleaded not guilty, was committed to the Supreme Court for trial. Bail was fixed at £IOOO, *
