SPOONY WINS CUP FLYING TO KING MERV, Per Press Association. PUKEKOHE, March 27. The Franklin races were held today in fine but dull weather. The course was heavy as the result of the rain yesterday. There was a largo attendance and the totalisator handled £24,044. Tactician fell opposite the enclosure m the first time round in the Cup and broke a leg and was destroyed. The rider Cammick was injured, and at a subsequent inquiry Nixon, the rider of Gala Day, was suspended for a fortnight for boring. He was held resoonsible for the accident. J. Gray, the rider of Golden Krisl, in the Waiuku Hack Welter, was cautioned for careless ridinrr and interfering with Appellant. Results:— BOMBAY HANDICAP. Of 125 sovs; six furlongs. I—Serang, 7.8 (S.
