“CONFISCATING CAPITAL”
CANADIAN INCOME TAX REMARKS BY RETAILERS. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association (Received March 14, 5.5 p.m.) OTTAWA, March 12. Hon. .T. A. Robb, Minister for Finance, told a delegation, representing the Retail Trade Bureau of Canada, to-day tbat_ the Government Imped to continue the income tax by a process of enlarging tho exemptions, particularly in favour of thoso who served overseas. Tho delegation asked that the present tax be abolished on the grounds that it is “not only cmifiscaling the capital required to extend our industries, but it is frightening capital nut of tho industry und preventing new investments.’’
