GANGER KILLED

WHILE RIDING A JIGGER ±»er Press Association. STRATFORD, March 13. Some time last evening a railway ganger named John O’CaTlaghnn was killed at a railway crossing between Stratford and Midhurst, and the body was found alongside the line this morning. The deceased was apparently riding on a jigger truck, and was run into by the north-ward bound maifc fraii\, which was running late in heavy rain. The engine-driver knew nothing of the accident. The body was carried 15 feet, and the jigger about nine feet further. Mr O’Callaghan was a widower. He has brothers in Southland, and his son was last heard &f at Riverton.
