GREATEST DAY YET
AMONGST THE BIG FISH ZANE GREY’S GOOD CATCH. (Bv Telegraph.—Special to “Times-”) AUCKLAND, February 4. Great excitement prevailed at Cape Brett on Tuesday/when eight launches were out swordfishing. Tho record catch for one day’s operations was made, and never had so many fish been seen in the vicinity in one day. They were leaping and broaching in all directions. One lady angler scoured a fine swordfish after playing it for two and a half hours. Had all tho fish been landed that were hooked the catch for the day would have totalled fifteen. The catches were as follow: Mr F. A. Burr, of New York, swordfish 3001 b, launch, Rosemary; Commander Edwards, two swordfish 3C6lb and 2281 b, launch, Doris; Mrs Sparrow, of England, swordfish 3001 b, launch, Phyllis; Mr W. Branson, of Napier, swordfish 1441 b, launch, Ozone; Mr F. J. Milne, of England mako shark 3861 b, launch. Ozone; Mr O. Alma Baker, of Malay States, with Mr Zane Grey’s party, swordfish 2721 b, launch. Reliance; Mr Zane Grey, two mvordfish 2581 b and 2841 b, and a mako shark 2581 b, launch, Alma G.
