MOTOR-CARS COLLIDE

TRAVELLING AT HIGH SPEED

DRIVER’S LICENSE CANCELLED. Per Press Association. LEVIN, December 17. In the Police Court to-day, Allen Light' Williams was charged with driving a motor-car in a dangerous manner and with failing to stop after a collision. The evidence showed that the defendant was travelling at a high speed. The car swerved on the road at Te Horb, and collided with another, which was almost stationary on a culvert, wrecking a wheel and steering gear. Williams did nofe stop. The defenoe -..'as that the defendant only felt a graze and looked hack, but the other car seemed to be all ‘right. It was denied that- the speed was excessive for that part of the road. The defendant was fined £5 on the first charge and £2 on the second. The police stated that the defendant had only one arm, and this was the second collision _ since a license had been granted him. The magistrate cancelled Williams’s driver’s license.
