“MADAME SANS GENE.”
Gloria Swaijson in "Madame Sans Gene,” appears for the last time at the De Luxe Theatre to-night. “Madame Sans Gene” is based on the French stage success by Victorien Sardou and Emile Moreau, and has to do with a flirtatious little French laundress, who becomes a duchess and a power behind the throne of France in the days of Napoleon. Charles de Roche heads the supporting cast. A plot was on foot and the result would tell whether the duchess was to remain at court. To her reception came , the sisters of Napoleon bent on humiliating her, hut she was watched over by Fouche the ex-Minister for Polioe. Insult after insult were hurled at her, hut none had effect til! one of the Princesses insulted the army.. And then such a scene as those gay walls of the Palace of the Tuileriea had never before witnessed, i No one should miss this film. a good supporting programme is screene<|, and the music under the direction of Mr L. D. Austin is beautiful.
