LAURA LA PLANTE IN “THE TEASER,” Laura La Plante and Pat O’Malley : —the two extremes in screen types— 1 prove a very acceptable combination, > as seen in “The Teaser,” Universal’sv sensationally-comical new feature now 1 playing ( at the Theatre De Luxe, i He plays a cigar salesman —breezy, rather noisy, swaggering—and she plays a 1 typical modern flapper—a society girl who tries her hand at clerking at a cigar counter for a ioke—and manages to fall in love with the breezy young drummer—to the wild anguish of her aristocratic family. From that point on every develop, ment 'is a veritable scream. The efforts of the family to break up the attaehment—her startling trick of flirting with all the married men in their set to annoy the aunt who interfered with her love plans—complications in the way of a domestio scandal—and efforts of the cigar drummer to become a social light y taking lessons in etiquette from a deposed Russian duke —these all add spice to the clever story. There is a good supporting programme, and the orchestral items are more than pleasing to all patrons.
