FACILITIES FOR FINAL YEAR AUCKLAND’S PROPOSAL. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, December 8. The granting of facilities at Auckland for tho hospital training of sixthyear medical students was discussed by the University College Council; Dr Kenneth Mackenzie said the University Commission bad suggested that medical, students in their final year at Otago University should be given facilities ofr hospital work in places other than Dunedin. The commission had specifically mentioned Auckland Hospital. The chairman of the Hospital Board had promised that facilities for sixth-year students would be available at the hospital. There, were a sufficient staff and apparatus at Auckland for the work, and the staff was willing to teach under the auspices of the College council. It was decided to draw up a report for the University Senate. Professor Segar: It may astonish somo of the southern people when they see it.
