POOR LAW AUTHORITIES MAY GO PROPOSAL IST ENGLAND. Reuter's Telegram. LONDON, December 7. Proposals have been circulated by the local authorities throughout the country by the Minister of Health under which the county councils absorb the functions of the existing poor law authorities. This step marks a further phase in the process of revolutionising and simplifying the administration of the law and lopping off historic anomalies, inaugurated by the Earl of Birkenhead, whose radical revision of the property law comes, into operation on June Ist. 1926.
