ILLUMINATED BOARD SPECIAL “TIMES” ARRANGEMENTS PROMPT COUNTRY SERVICE With the closing of the pollingbooths on Wednesday, the decision of the people will be made, and the political fata of the country decided for another term. Every elector, however, will want to see how the other fellow voted, and will eagerly grasp an opportunity of gaining access to results on the night of the poll. Special facilities in this direction are being provided, and on the' balcony of the “Times” there will be displayed the whole Dominion results, every constituency being represented in large plain characters, so that those who are not sufficiently fortunate to gain a front place in the crowd will seoure an almost equally satisfactory view.

In addition to the list of political candidates, there will be displayed in a similar way the progress report of the poll on the licensing issue, which will create widespread interest. - Special arrangements have been made for the diversion of the street traffic, and the “Times” board will be visible from a great distance on account of the apecia] illumination scheme which has been devised for the occasion. *> Extensive and comprehensive preparations have been made for the prompt reception of results, and by special telephones and speedy service, the figures will be posted on the “Times” ‘board a few seconds after the completion of the counting. Naturally, the local conatitnencies will be prominently listed, and the figures from each booth will be given immediately the papers are counted. Candidates—successful and defeated —will speak from the balcony, and the progress of the parties will be made known at intervals. Country subscribers are being particularly well catered for, and the early papers will be dispatched to the outlying districts witli the latest indication as to what the elections have brought forth. Those in the qountry will, therefore, bo able to enjoy the usual privilege of having the “Times” at the breakfast table, with the added attraction of the late news. RESULTS BY ’PHONE, The Secretary, Post and Telegraph Department, announces that arrangements have been mffde for election results to be obtained by any telephone exchange subscriber, Sufficient connections have been installed in a room in the General Post Office, and any subscriber connected with the Wellington .telephone exchange may obtain election information bv dialing No. 45-090. A similar facility was provided on the night of ,-the general election. 1922. and was largely availed ofby.the public.
