A STRANGE FACT

THE BLIND LOVE PICTURES CHILDREN GREATLY INTERESTED (By Telegraph.—Special to “Times.”) AUCKLAND, September 24. “It is a fiiost astounding thing, but there is a constant cry for pictures at ’the Institute for the Blind,” said Mr H. E. Vaile, at the Art Society’s annual meeting, when a proposal that artists might donate pictures to schools and hospitals was.under discussion. “The children who can see . just a tittle, and even the totally blind, are extraordinarily interested in pictures. They will lead you up to a picture and tell you all about it. and expect you to admire it. The gift of any new art treasure is always a subject of great discussion among the children themselves.”
