RHODES SCHOLARSHIP
CANTERBURY SELECTION MR C. E. LOW NOMINATED. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, September 24. The Professorial Board of the Canteibury College has chosen Mr O. E. Low as the Canterbury nominee for the Rhodes Scholarship. Mr Low has had a distinguished scholastic and athletic career at Canterbury College, where he is at present lecturer in French. He has gained his B.A. degree with honours in Latin and French, and at present is taking an honours course for the degree of Master of Arts. Mr Low is one of the most brilliant Latin and French students ever turned out by the Christchurch Boys’ High School, which he left in 1921. At the school he was a member of the first fifteen, and school champion in swimming and athletics. He continued his sporting successes at Canterbury College, gaining his blue for football and athletics. He was a member of the Canterbury provincial athletic team in 1924.
