LEVERHULME’S ART WORKS

OFFER. TOO GOOD TO REFUSE. Renter’s Telegram. LONDON, September 22. The extensive collection of works of art contained in the late Viscount Leverhulme’s house at Hampstead, had been advertised for sale at auction, but the auctioneers received such a magnificent offer from the Anderson Galleries, New York, that it was impossible for them to advise Lord Leverhulme’s executors to refuse it. The auction sale was accordingly cancelled.' The Leverhulme executors reserve the right to retain any contents which it may he desired to purchase on behalf of the nation. The Anderson Galleries have arranged to hold a sale on behalf of the executors in New York next year.
