SUMMARY DISMISSAL
PARIS TELEGRAPH STRIKERS “A REVOLUTIONARY ATTACK.” Reuter’s Telegram. (Received September 23, V. 30 p.m.) PARIS, September 22. After the Cabinet had discussed the telegraphists’ strike, M. Chaumet, the Minister for Commerce, announced that he would summarily dismiss those responsible for the strike, which was a revolutionary attack upon the State that no Government could tolerate. A strike of telegraph and telephone operators cut Paris off from the outside world for two hours on Monday morning. The strikers demanded the immediate payment of a bonus and increase in salaries, which Parliament hai approved in principle. The strike wai organised for two hours as a las* warning to the authorities.
