GOLF TOURNEYS

MANAWATU AND ROTORUA JOHN DUNCAN SUCCESSFUL. John Duncan upheld the family golfing tradition to-day by annexing the Manawatu open championship, his uncle, Arthur Duncan, winning the only time asking in 1911. Duncan was round about the eighties until to-day, when Ins opponent, Louis Seifert (club champion, 1913-14), cracked up. Duncan’s score was 7 up and 6 to play. This game was well below standard. Seifert defeated the holder (J. L'. Bidwill), and the Easter champion (Gonville Saunders), the previous day by one stroke, under the course bogey in both victories.
