LEAGUE FOOTBALL
TO-DAY’S BIG MATCH League football, as it should be played, is promised at Newtow’n Park this atrernoon, when the visiting Queens land representatives will play a combined New Zealand team. The visitors are some of the cleverest League players ever seen in New Zealand- The final selection of the visitors’ team has not yet been made, but it will probably he as follows: —Full-back, E. Fraunlelder; three-quarters, Aynsley, Craig, Gorman, Spencer; five-eighth, Moores; half-back, Edwards; forwards, Armbraster, Purcell, Steinohrt, Potter, Henderson, and Bennett. Nine of these players have represented Australia in Tests with England and New Zealand. Tho following will represent the combined team:— Full-back, Crowfcher (Auckland); three-quarters, Bryce (Wellington), O’Connor (Canterbury), Johnson (Waikato); five-eighths, Jackson (Waikato), Robbins (Canterbury); half-back, Peckham (Auckland); forwards, Shanahan (Wellington), Townsend (Auckland), Burns (Canterbury), McDonald (Auckland), Menzies (Waikato), Carroll (Wellington). Reserves, Collie (Canterbury), Ramm, Fitzmaurice, and Ryan (Wellington).
