A remarkable incident marked a funeral at the Sydenham cemetery. The hearse, which was travelling to tlm graveside, lost its grip on the tinmetalled road, and sank to the backaxle in mud. The coffin was removed from the hearse, and with the help of ropes, hoards, nnd nacks. the hearse was after a delay of three-quar-ters of an hour.
