TREATMENT OF TUBERCULOSIS
THE SPAHLINGER TREATMENT In the Legislative Council yesterday, the Hon. Colonel Collins asked the following question of which due notice had been given on Tursday: “Whether, in view of the cablegram from England dated Juno 27th, 1925, which has been published by the Press in New Zealand, the Government will inquire tlirough the High Commissioner, Sir James Allen: Whether, the Minister for Health has further information as to the value of the Spahlinger treatment for tuberculosis in human beings and cattle; what are the names of the six experts who, after investigation made at Geneva, have issued certain recommendations; and what is the substance of those recommendations?
The Leader of the Legislative Council (Sir Francis Bell), in reply, stated that the High Commissioner was in touch with Spahlinger at Geneva. So far no direct reply had been received from the High Commissioner Office onthe points asked. The High Commissioner would be asked to keep the matter closely in mind, and to' communicate with the Government immediately there was anything to report.
