RIFFS ATTACK AGAIN
PEACE TERMS REJECTED INDEPENDENCE DEMANDED. Australian and N.Z Cable Association PARIS. July 2. A communique from Fez states that the Riffs are developing an offensive on a large scale against' the French sectors in the centre and the east, and are invading the French lines at several points. French airplanes are active, and bombed the post commanded by Abd-fcl-Krim’s brother at Bouaden. (SvHnev "Sun" Cable.) Spain has rejected ' Abd-el-Krim’s peace termß. demanding recognition of an independent Riff State, which is partly situated in the Spanish zone. An airplane frightened Abd-el-Krim’s mule, which threw him, Abd-el-Krim’a leg was fractured.
