BADGER HUNT THROUGH STREETS

One badger met one constable in a Bath (Somerset) street at dawn. The badger was the first to recover from the surprise and made haste away. Tire constable, -glad of this relief from the monotony of patrol, followed as hard as he could, till the badger took refuge in a coal cellar in a house in Charles street. The householder was knocked up, and two other constables called, aud it was decided to shoot tho intruder with a revolver. The first shot missed, and the weapon was then abandoned in favour of other weapons, to which the badger finally succumbed.
