AIRSHIP TRAVEL DE LUXE
. Working plans for a huge airship, twice as big as any yet built, are now being completed in the United States by the well-known Goodyear Zeppelin Corporation. According to a leading official of this organisation this im mense airship is to be fitted on a scale never before attempted. One can visualise a passenger cabin, extending from the keel of the vessel 'with a promenade deck and steamer chairs, comfortable berths, diningroom service, shower baths, and the like, furnishing a pleasant and easy journey without sou-sickness or other discomforts of present methods of travel. Many inquiries have been made as to what the fare might be, but no one! is in a position yet to discuss the matter of cost of airship travol because the operating experience has been toe limited to draw final conclusions. Wliat may bo said is that the Zeppelin ships offer a new and faster method of long distance transport, and that interesting developments are ahead. America is now able to draw upon the accumulated experience of 25 years of the Zeppelin organisation in construction and operation of airships. It has the added advantage of American factory methods of construction, of American enterprise and resources and temperament, plus the fact of a great continent and twm great oceans to operate without having to cross the borders of another nation. Dr. Hugo Eckener, bead of the Zeppelin plant and commander of the ZR-3 on its delivery flight, will be a member of the board of directors for Goodyear Zeppelin Corporation, the presence of this expert being assurance that the full resources and experience of successful Zeppelin operation will be at America’s disposal.—Advt.
