UNIVERSITY DEBATE
VISITING DELEGATES. 'A debate betwe4r. representatives of the Oxford Union and the Victoria College. Debating Societies is to he held in the Chamber of the Town Hall , next Saturday evening. The subject is:: “That this house does not believe that the advent, to power of the British Labour Party will materially improve national or international conditions.” Two-of the Oxford representatives • (Messrs Hollis and Woodruff), together with one speaker from Victoria College, will take the affirmative, wßile the negative will be upheld by Mr Malcolm Macdonald, son of the ex-Prime Minister of Great Britain. supported by two representatives or the Victoria College Debating Society. Intending patrons, including ; all those who have purchased tickets from students, are asked to hook their seats at the Bristol. This is the first occasion oh which representatives of the Oxford Union have been in New Zealand, and the visit is attracting ooirsiderajble attention. , f The visiting debaters will proceed fro.v Wellington to Christchurch and Dunedin, and will return to Wellington to hold their final-debate for New Zealand in the main Town Hall on Wednesday, April Sbh, the subject; being prohibition. !,
