REDUCTION IN FARES BIG CONCESSIONS ANNOUNCED. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, March 23. The new scale of fares and concession tickets adopted by the City Council for tramways is to take effect from April 6th. The present cash fares of 2d, 3d, and 4d, for the first, second and third sections, remain in force, but the fourth, fifth and sixth sections cash fares are all reduced to 4d, irrespective of distance. The concession tickets have been reduced as follow: —First section reduced 2d, second section Id, third section Sd, fourth section 6d, fifth secT?bn Is 3d, sixt section 2s 3d. That is to sav that for the fourth, fifth and sixTTi section a 12-trip concession ticket cost 3 3s 3d, irrespective of distance.
