THE EGGS CASE
BEFORE APPEAL COURT. At the Appeal Court yesterday no for-i Messrs Justices Sim (presiding', Reid, Adams and Ostler; t-he case of C. S. Clarke and Company against the Wellington District Poultry f armers’ Association came on for hearing. Mr H. F. Johnston appeared for the company and Mr H. F. O’Leary tenths association. The original action in the case, which has -been before the Supreme Court several times, was taken by the Wellington District Poultry farmers' Association, which claimed £284 19s 4d from C. 8. Clarke and Company for eggs sold and delivered to the company. The company denied any liability beyond that whioh had already been met lor a poition of the eggs. The Chief Justice, Sir Robert Stout, gave judgment for the amount claimed, with costs*, and this decision was appealed against. Legal argument occupied the greater part of ->he afternoon, and the court reserved its judgment.
