The city of Quebec and the easterfl part of Quebec Province were shaken seriously by a second earthquake in a fortnight, leaving the population badly suffering from hysteria. The damage is not extensive, hut the shocks were the worst in this part of the country for 100 years. EARTHQUAKES AT SEA SEVERE SHOCK RECORDED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. SYDNEY, March 23. The seismograph at Riverview College at 6.46 o’clock last night recorded the first of a series ot severe earth tremors, extending for a period ot three hours, of a supposedly submarine disturbance in the vicinity of Malekula Island, New Hebrides. The maximum sweep of the instrument was five inches, which indicated ihe of the shocks.
