RECORD NEW BUSINESS DONE. LAST MONTH’S OPERATIONS. The Prime Minister issned yesterday the following statement as to the operations of the Public Trust Office during February last:— “The amount paid ont during the month of February in settlement of hew loans was' £lsß,6B4—private mortgagors, £99,344; and local bodies, £59.3fiO —making a total for - the eleven months of the current financial year of $2,297.045. The total loans granted, but not yet paid, amount to £686,299; and amounts offered, being less than the full loans applied for, amount to £182,68T—a grand total of £868,982. Applications on hand awaiting consideration amount to £161,669. “With regard to new business, the value of estates reported and accepted fer administration during the month was £375.392; making the total for the current financial year £4,290.510—an amount already greatly exceeding any previous year- During the month 412 new wills were deposited in the office by living testators, and the total now held is 43.647.”
